Ministry of HRD had established National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in 1989 as an autonomous body in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986. Apart from the general academic courses at secondary and senior secondary levels, it also provides various vocational and community driven courses aiming at human resource development. We are planning to open up a centre of NIOS at Maktabah Jafariyah soon with the aim of providing opportunity to adults who could not study further. They can resume their further studies from the comfort of their homes under the guidance of this centre.
