Department of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry

The department works for two of the most traditional occupations and bedrocks of Indian people: farming, and animal husbandry. The main objective of this department is to improve the outlook towards agriculture and animal husbandry, propagate its importance, develop skills related to animal husbandry among cattle rearers, as well as improve farming practices. It aims to achieve this by giving relevant training to farmers and cattle rearers and equipping them with relevant useful information such as the importance of cleanliness in milk production, etc.

One of the disadvantages of the agricultural revolution is the overuse of unnecessary and harmful drugs, which has a direct impact on human health; a monumental problem before us today. To overcome this, cultivation is also done under this department by sowing seeds based on methods discouraging the unnecessary and harmful use of pesticides and hybrid seeds. Cereals, vegetables, oilseed crops, etc. are primarily cultivated indigenously keeping in mind their intrinsic need in our canteens, messes, etc.

One of the cardinal initiatives of this department is teaching farming practically in our campus, imparting theoretical education and practical experience to students. Involving students in farming activities enhances their understanding of agriculture, and enriches their overall educational experience.
