Meher Library & Jafari Seminary is a crowning jewel of Maktabah Jafariyah. It imparts value-education and etiquettes based on Islamic teachings through various mediums, including courses, books, and magazines, to name a few. Islamic principles infuse both its outward facets, like the building’s design, and inward facets, like its day-to-day functioning and policies. Its dual facilities respect gender privacy while fostering collaboration by providing a shared space to access common resources.
As the name suggests, Meher Library & Jafari Seminary consists of two departments, i.e., Meher Library and Jafari Seminary. Meher Library deals with books, manuscripts, coins, and eLibrary, whereas Jafari Seminary offers various courses, research and publication, educational and social functions, etc. Here, a vast collection of books is complemented by research facilities and eLibrary. In addition to having around 34,000 physical books, Meher Library also has around 2,600 digital books in its eLibrary, which can be read through computers, tablets, and ePaper reading devices put up there. It also has subscriptions to various research websites.
As is the case with many essential offerings of Maktabah Jafariyah, this knowledge hub extends its reach beyond its walls, meaning Meher Library’s services can also be accessed from connected libraries located in other villages and cities.
